01The fact and its source
The operator publishes the licence reference in its footer disclosure: Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board, 10194002-002, issued 26 November 2025, licensee Letsbet (Pty) Ltd. This dossier reports that disclosure rather than auditing the register itself - a distinction we keep explicit because a footer claim and a register entry are different evidence classes, and the register is the one that governs.
02Why provincial licensing is the real story
South Africa licenses gambling provincially, and the Western Cape's board is among the country's most established regulators. A WCGRB bookmaker licence commits the operator to local law on player funds, fair gaming and responsible gambling, and - crucially for players - provides a domestic dispute escalation route that offshore 'licences' cannot. In a market where unlicensed offshore sites actively target South Africans, a verifiable provincial number is the difference between a betting brand and a betting operation.
03Verifying it takes two minutes
Search the WCGRB's licensed-operator listings for 10194002-002 or Letsbet (Pty) Ltd via the Western Cape government site. Confirm the licence type (bookmaker scope), status and any conditions shown. If register and website ever disagree, the register wins - and reporting the discrepancy to the regulator protects other players as much as yourself. Our licence page walks the verification step by step.
